Day 2: Treyarnon Bay to Okehampton

Today I cycled to Okehampton, but a different route to the one I planned. Last night at the youth hostel I went to the pub and met a man also doing LEJoG and a local policeman. The policeman said my route was rubbish and he would take me another way. So this morning all three set off and took a ferry from Padstow to Rock. Nice town.

After a few hours we all parted ways and I was left on my own again. With a head wind and lots of hills today was very difficult. I started to struggle a little but was met at two o'clock by a distant cousin from Okehampton who gave me loads of energy food and drinks and cycled in front of me keeping me out of the wind. They have also made me a lovely lamb shank for dinner and a cup of tea. Looking forward to tomorrow now.

Oh thank you for all the texts even though I don't reply I see every one and are keeping me going!
