Today was tough.
Truth be told there were a lot of occasions today where I thought to myself I want to give up.
I started in Slaidburn in the middle of the mountains. The road I wanted to take was closed so I had to take the high road at an altitude of 1200ft.
The weather did not improve much from yesterday and within minutes I was wet right through.
It took about 5 hours to get past most of the hills and stopped for some food in Tebay.

I will be honest and say that today I nearly broke but I had to remind myself why I was there and how your donations will go to help unwell children. Thank you to all who have donated. You are keeping me going.
I made it to a nice hotel to stay for tonight. Thank you to my Aunty Tina for booking it for me. 90 miles today. With the knowledge that today was the hardest day I am looking forward to tomorrow.
Thanks for all the texts. Keep them coming.
Please please donate. If you have please spread the word. So simple to text
"Mill73 £5" to 70070
or any other amount.
Thank you.
Hi Mark,
ReplyDeleteI'm with the big group that saw you at the Slaidburn YHA, and then again briefly at Tebay. Glad to hear you're doing well. Keep it up. You're a legend, and Scotland is lovely.
What time you planning to get to John O'Groats on Friday? We'd love to have you along for dinner with us to celebrate. You're fiance as well if she's there to meet you.
Good luck. Chin up.
sam.
